On the Substack Sensible Medicine, three physicians, plus various guest writers, air opinions and frustrations about the art and science of medicine. Recently, the epidemiologist Dr. John W. Ayers described how he could not get "experts" to pay attention to two important topics that he researched. Why not? His data went against their preconceptions.

    It’s a sobering read. I only wish it was surprising. The article makes me wonder how journal editors, and journalists, decide what is worth letting the world know about.
