The mineral and vitamin content of vegetables is much lower than it was in the 1950s. This is due to depletion of the soil, and because some modern, fast-growing strains of vegetables may not absorb as many nutrients as older varieties. The net result, in my opinion, is that supplemental minerals and vitamins are necessary. This is especially true for those
who are recovering from illnesses. For healing to take place, the body needs good quality raw materials.
