Most publications about diet in the medical literature assume that everyone reacts to food in the same way. But recently,
information is accumulating that suggests that the same meal can have different effects on different people.
A recent article on the NPR website discusses the Nutrition for Precision Health study, funded by the USA National Institutes of
Health, which will investigate how differences in genetics and the microbiome can affect individual reactions to given diets.

My hope is that formal research in this area will mean that this concept becomes more widely known and accepted, to the benefit
of patients and practitioners alike.
